In 2018-19 Mesh Mash worked with printmaker Kate Gorringe-Smith on an exhibition of prints for the Overwintering Project. The Overwintering Project seeks to raise awareness of our migratory shorebirds and their habitats by inviting artists to help make them more visible.
Through a series of monthly printmaking workshops and site visits facilitated by artists Kate Gorringe-Smith, Geoffrey Ricardo, Rob Mancini and Ellise Roberts, participants learned to produce mono, lino, relief and etching prints. A selection of the prints produced from the Overwintering Project workshops were exhibited at the Louis Joel Gallery in Altona.
A series of special edition tote bags with prints on them by exhibiting artists Melissa Boag, Eva Klusacek, Paula O Shea and Prue Myers was produced by Mesh Mash and sold at the exhibition with proceeds from print sales going to project partner Bird Life Australia.
